Over 100,000 Moldovan children live in the diaspora and the number increases every year. Moldovan economic emigrants take their children along to their countries of destination and fully integrate them into the hosting society.

Today, IOM, UNDP, SDC and representatives of the Moldovan Government discussed the results of six years of cooperation in the field of mainstreaming migration into national development strategies. The six years count for two phases of an SDC-funded country programme with the same name.

On 17 April 2018 five public policy proposalsdeveloped by highly skilled Moldovan diaspora representatives were presented to the Government of the Republic of Moldova.
The first study of Transnistrian diaspora was presented in Tiraspol
On 13 December 2017 in Tiraspol was presented and discussed the Transnistrian Diaspora Mapping. The study was commissioned by IOM Moldova and conducted by Ms. Ala Ostavnaia, IOM during 2016-2017 in six countries: Russia, Germany, Italy, Israel, Portugal and United Kingdom.
