On 18 April 2019, IOM Chief of Mission to Moldova, Lars Johan Lönnback, met with the US ambassador in Moldova, Dereck J. Hogan, and the General Director of the Moldovan National Border Police, Fredolin Lecari, during a field visit to the northern region of Edenit.
The US ambassador and the IOM Chief of Mission oversaw a comprehensive training on victim of trafficking identification which canvasses more than 10% of the forces personnel, also including investigators, judges and witnesses protection officials.
Mr. Lönnback stated in addressing the officers: “you have an extremely important humanitarian and law enforcement task that takes both skills and experience. We are delighted to partner with United States on these training sessions and I thank the ambassador for being here to see you dedication to learn.”
